Help Build and Scale the Infrastructure Behind Modern Financial Systems

At Shift Markets, we’re building the infrastructure that powers the next generation of financial platforms — combining traditional finance with blockchain and modern cloud systems.

We’re looking for a Platform Software Engineer with a strong backend foundation who enjoys working across infrastructure, data pipelines, and scalable systems.

This role is ideal for someone who has already built solid backend or platform experience and is looking to grow their impact across infrastructure, product scalability, and system design.

What You’ll Do:

Build & Scale Backend and Platform Systems

• Design and build backend services and platform components using TypeScript, Python, or similar

• Work on systems that support data processing, automation, and product scalability

• Contribute to event-driven architectures and distributed systems

Work with Data & Pipelines

• Build and improve ETL pipelines and data workflows

• Help optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of data systems

• Work with cloud-native tooling across AWS (primary)

Develop Infrastructure as Code

• Build and maintain infrastructure using Amazon CDK, Terraform, or CDKTF Typescript

• Create reusable infrastructure patterns and improve existing codebases

• Support multiple environments with clear, maintainable configurations

Contribute to Architecture & Platform Evolution

• Contribute to infrastructure and backend design decisions

• Collaborate with developers and architects to improve system design

• Help scale systems as product usage grows

What We’re Looking For

Core Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in software engineering, backend engineering, or platform engineering

• Strong programming skills (TypeScript or Python preferred)

• Experience building backend systems, APIs, or data pipelines

• Hands-on experience with Terraform CDKTF or Amazon CDK is a strong plus

• Experience working with AWS

• Basic understanding of event-driven systems or distributed architectures

• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with CDKTF (TypeScript) or Amazon CDK

• Experience working with ETL pipelines or data processing systems

• Exposure to Kubernetes, ECS, or serverless architectures

• Experience working on scaling production systems

• Exposure to fintech, crypto, or high-throughput systems

• Familiarity with AI-enhanced development tooling and automation workflows.
